Breast Lift
in Houston, TX
The ideal feminine aesthetic for many women involves shapely and perky breasts. Breastfeeding, weight loss, aging, gravity—these are some of the most common causes of breast sagging. Breast lift surgery offers the perfect solution to restore an elevated position and youthful fullness to the breasts.
Dr. Edgar Bedolla utilizes the most advanced surgical breast enhancement techniques to deliver beautiful, tailored results to his patients.
What Is a Breast Lift?
A breast lift (mastopexy) is a cosmetic surgery designed to reshape the breasts for a more youthful and uplifted appearance. This procedure effectively addresses sagging breasts (ptosis) by removing excess skin and reinforcing the underlying breast tissue for enhanced breast contours and shape.
Breast Lift Benefits
Breast lift surgery offers many benefits to patients, including:
- Eliminates breast sagging
- Enhances breast shape
- Reduces the size of large areolas
- Corrects downward-pointing nipples
- Improves the way clothes fit and expands wardrobe options
- Powerfully boosts confidence and self-image
Am I a Candidate for Breast Lift Surgery?
If you are unhappy with your breasts due to sagging, drooping, excess skin, or downward-facing nipples, you may be a candidate for breast lift surgery.
Ideal candidates are individuals in good health, who do not smoke or are willing to quit, and who have realistic expectations for their results.

How Is Breast Lift Surgery Performed?
Breast lift surgery is performed outpatient under general anesthesia. Dr. Bedolla will tailor the procedure to your aesthetic goals and unique anatomy.
Breast Lift Incisions
The incision used for your breast lift procedure depends on the extent of correction needed and the degree of breast laxity and excess skin present.
Periareolar (or Donut Incision)
This approach uses a single incision that encircles the areola. It involves the least amount of scarring and is ideal for breasts with mild sagging and only slight nipple malposition.
Lollipop (or Keyhole Incision)
The incisions encircle the areola and extend down vertically to the breast crease. This balanced approach is best for patients with moderate sagging. It allows for more correction than a donut lift but less scarring than an anchor lift. Again, it has some limitations and it should be chosen for the right candidates.
Anchor (or Inverted-T Incision)
This technique uses three incisions: one encircles the areola, the second extends down vertically, and the third runs along the inframammary fold, resembling an anchor. It remains the most powerful technique, allows for the most significant lifting, and is ideal for moderate to severe sagging and nipple malposition.
What Procedures Can Be Combined With Breast Lift Surgery?
Breast lift surgery is commonly combined with other breast enhancement procedures or with body contouring procedures, such as in a Mommy Makeover.
Breast Augmentation: A breast augmentation with lift, or augmentation mastopexy, involves reshaping the breast tissues and removing excess skin, plus the insertion of breast implants. For women who also suffer from volume deflation, the addition of an implant will optimize the results—giving you voluptuous breasts that are firmer, more elevated, and more voluminous.
Breast Reduction: During a breast lift, excess breast tissue can be removed alongside excess skin, allowing for a reduction in breast size along with an elevated breast profile and firmer shape. The result is perky and proportional breasts, and patients often enjoy relief from issues like back pain and exercise limitations.
What Is Breast Lift Recovery Like?
After surgery, you will be wearing a surgical bra to support the new shape of your breasts as they heal and settle into place. Swelling, bruising, and discomfort are common and will improve over time.
It is essential to rest, avoid strenuous activity, and refrain from lifting your arms extensively. After about 72 hours, many patients can return to work and engage in gentle daily activities. Light walking is recommended a few days after surgery to prevent blood clots.
Dr. Bedolla will provide you with complete aftercare instructions, including details on medication, incision care, and activity restrictions.
What Results Can I Expect From a Breast Lift?
Your breast lift results may initially be obscured by swelling. For a few months following surgery, your breasts will gradually settle into their new position. You can expect to see continuous improvement during this time. Breast lift scars will continue to fade with time, throughout one to two years, and result in a fine white line that is often barely visible.
Breast lift results are long-lasting. Weight fluctuations, gravity, and age can all still affect your breasts, but they will always look better than if you never had a breast lift.
How Much Does a Breast Lift Cost?
The cost of a breast lift depends on the details of your surgical plan, including the type of incision. Breast lift pricing also varies based on additional fees, including facility, surgical, and anesthesia. At your consultation, Dr. Bedolla will provide precise pricing information.
